Video game developer Extreme announced on Tuesday that Langrisser Re: Incarnation will ship on July 23 in Japan. The company also said that it will reveal more details about the Nintendo 3DS game on an upcoming Niconico Live stream with its producer and voice actors.
The simulation role-playing game is the series' first title to be released in 15 years. It will feature an updated user interface, and a story that can branch depending on which one of three factions (Bright Army, Imperial Army, Dark Army) the player chooses to side with. It will also include confession scenes from up to 28 characters.
The game's cast of 40 includes:
- Shūta Morishima as Ares, the protagonist
- Sumire Uesaka as Elma, the childhood friend
- Miyuki Sawashiro as Towa, Ares' master
- Aoi Yūki as Jessica, the sorceress
- Nao Tōyama as Licorice, Ares' younger sister
- Tomokazu Sugita as the Great Big Brother
A Rakuten listing previously confirmed that Hiroshi Kaieda designed about 30 new characters. Noriyuki Iwadare, who composed the music for all the main games in the series, is covering all aspects of sound production. Masami Okui will perform the game's theme song.
The game will also come in a limited Legend Box edition, which includes "petit" figures (of the characters Rosalia and Licorice) and the game's two-disc soundtrack, which includes music from the first two Langrisser games. It will also include a 64-page art book with character designs, story world designs, and unpublished illustrations by Satoshi Urushihara (the series' previous character designer) and Hiroshi Kaieda.
