Eevees Invade Pikachu Outbreak in Yokohama Ahead of Pokémon: Let's Go Game Release
posted on by Lynzee Loveridge
The now annual invasion of Pikachu in Yokohama is getting some special guests this year. The 1,500 Pikachu will still descend on the area this year, but they're bringing some Eevee friends along for the event, likely to promote the upcoming release of Pokémon: Let's Go, Pikachu! and Pokémon: Let's Go, Eevee! Nintendo Switch games.
For the last four years, Yokohama's Minato Mirai 21 business district has welcomed the expanding event each summer. This year's event is focusing on a science theme, which some might argue is perfect for the always evolving Eevee. The brown, furry Pokémon will hold its own parade, but exactly how many is still a secret. Regardless, event staff are promising one of the world's biggest Eevee marches.
Large Eevees were spotted around Japan as part of the Eevee Company Visit project, basically a company office morale boost starring Eevee. The Pokémon visited the King Jim office supply company and the Tanita scale manufacturer.

More than 1,500 Pikachu will appear in the Yokohama area, this time in all new kinds of places with the help of digital technology. Events will include both daytime and nighttime parades and water shows.
The Pikachu Parade will kick off on August 10 and run until August 16.
