Crunchyroll to Stream Kaiju Girls Anime

Media distribution service Crunchyroll announced on Monday that it will stream the Kaijū Girls ~Ultra Kaijū Gijinka Keikaku~ series of anime shorts as it airs in Japan. The first episode will stream worldwide outside of Asia on Tuesday, September 27 at 6:00 a.m. EDT.
Crunchyroll describes the anime:
Humanity's battle of many years with the kaiju, giant monsters, has finally come to an end. Now that Earth has entered an age of peace, girls with the souls of kaiju have begun to appear, giving them the ability to transform into kaiju. They are known as the Kaiju Girls, and this is the powerful, transient, beautiful, and at times easygoing story of the strange fate these girls bear.

Iida, Suzuki, and Endō. will perform the series' theme song. The staff accepted suggestions for the trio's group name until July 15.
Minoru Ashina (Kōkaku Kidōtai Nyumon Arise, Spelunker Sensei) is directing the anime at Studio Puyukai and Medicrie. Yasuharu Takanashi (Boruto -Naruto the Movie-, Fairy Tail Zero) is composing the music, Junichi Inaba (Hotarubi no Mori e, Noragami Aragoto) is directing the sound, and Norimitsu Kaihō (School-Live!, Gunslinger Stratos: The Animation series composition) provided the original concept and is in charge of setting. The anime's original character designers include: Nekosuke Ōkuma (Nitroplus), Hiroshi Tani, CHOCO, Jirō Tomioka, Namaniku ATK (Nitroplus), Nekokan Masshigura (Nitroplus), Bakutendo, and minoa (Nitroplus).
The Ultra Kaijū Gijinka Keikaku project transforms kaijū (monsters) from the Ultraman live-action special-effects series into cute, female anthropomorphized monsters. The project already inspired the Ultra Kaijū Gijinka Keikaku Galaxy Days four-panel manga. Kadokawa released the second compiled book volume on June 24. The project's official website has also revealed that manga, novel, and other projects are in development.
