Kodansha's Magazine Pocket online manga app published the final chapter of Yahiro Magome's Daiya no B!! (Brass of Diamond) spinoff comedy manga on Wednesday.
The manga is a spinoff of Yūji Terajima's Ace of Diamond (Daiya no A) baseball manga, and focuses instead on Seidō High School's concert band, with trumpeter Eijun Sawamura as the protagonist. Eijun aims to be the ace of the concert band, alongside his fellow players Furuya on trombone, and Haruichi on flute. Miyuki Kazuya, from the Ace of Diamond manga, also appears in the story.
The manga launched in Magazine Pocket in August 2015, at the same time as the main Ace of Diamond manga's second part debuted. Kodansha published three compiled book volumes for the spinoff's first part, and published the first compiled volume for the spinoff's"act II" in October.
Terajima launched the original baseball manga in Kodansha's Weekly Shōnen Magazine in 2006, and Kodansha released the fifth volume of the manga's "act II" in October. The manga won the shōnen category of the 34th Kodansha Manga Awards in 2010.
The manga inspired a television anime that premiered in 2013, and Crunchyroll streamed the series as it aired in Japan. A second season of the anime premiered in April 2015, and Crunchyroll also streamed the series as it aired.
