The 24th issue of Hakusensha's Le Paradis (Rakuen) magazine revealed on June 30 that Asumiko Nakamura will launch a new manga titled Hariyama no Otome-tachi (The Maidens of the Pincushion, pictured below) in the magazine's next issue on October 31. Nakamura also finished her Kimiyōbi: Tetsudō Shōjo Manga story in the same issue. The manga's fourth and final compiled book volume will ship on July 31. The manga is a spinoff of a story from her Tetsudō Shōjo Manga book.
Nakamura recently launched a new manga titled Ōkoku Monogatari (Kingdom Story) in Shueisha's Ultra Jump magazine on April 19.
Nakamura's Dōkyūsei manga inspired the Doukyusei -Classmates- anime film, which opened in Japan in February 2016. Aniplex of America opened the film in theaters in the United States last May, and released the film on home video in September. Nakamura's Double Mints manga inspired a live-action film adaptation that opened in Japan on June 3.
Vertical Comics released Nakamura's Utsubora manga in North America in 2013.
