Crunchyroll to Stream 'PPAP' Singer Pikotarō's Improv Anime

Crunchyroll began streaming the first episode of the Pikotarō's LULLABY LA LA BY anime on Friday. The series of three-minute episodes will stream worldwide outside of Asia as part of the summer simulcast season.
Pikotarō (the stage name of Japanese comedian Kazuhito "Daimaō" Kosaka) is improvising the story of each episode using fairy tale illustrations by the anime's director Takashi Taniguchi. Pikotarō voices every character, including himself. Flash animation studio DLE is handling animation production. Pikotarō is credited as the original creator and with the music under his "producer" name Daimaō Kosaka.
The anime premiered on TV Tokyo and streaming services such as dTV and animeteleto in Japan on Wednesday.
Pikotarō is best known for his bizarre viral music video "PPAP (Pen-Pineapple-Apple-Pen)."
