The magazine describes the manga as a "youth love idol story." The story is set in the '70s during television's Golden Age, and centers on a boy who lives in the countryside with his family who runs a hotel. A certain event leads him to Tokyo.
Kobayashi launched the Nigakute Amai manga series on Mag Garden's web comic magazine EDEN in November 2009, and ended it in February 2016. Mag Garden published the manga's 13th and final volume on March 8. The manga inspired a live-action film adaptation last September.
