NEOKET, the All Genre Online Doujinshi Marketplace: The Event is Just Around the Corner - January 30th (Sat)

pixiv Inc. (HQ: Tokyo, Shibuya-ku; President: Shingo Kunieda, hereinafter referred to as “pixiv”) is hosting NEOKET, the All Genre Online Doujinshi Marketplace, on January 30th, 2021 (Sat) JST. NEOKET is a virtual space with a focus on enjoying social interaction online.

As of January 22nd, 2021, free tickets for general admission into NEOKET have been available to get before the event via the event's official website.

■ The Concept Behind NEOKET
We launched the NEOKET Project with the idea of creating a thrilling marketplace that fostered communication between creators and fans in the same space. With the power of virtual technology, we've managed to build a place that can be experienced at any time, and that will help produce new creations and new circles. With COVID making physical venues and communication difficult, we hope that this will be our contribution to firing up creators' passions!

■ The creation of a virtual, completely-online doujinshi venue
One world within NEOKET can have up to 1,000 people! The entire venue can hold up to 10,000 people simultaneously. Take whatever form you like using a 3D avatar to wander about the venue, join voice chat, use motions, and more!

The venue is just like a real-life doujinshi market, meaning you can flip through the catalogues in circle spaces - virtually, of course! NEOKET connects to the International Indie Art Marketplace, BOOTH, which is a service managed by pixiv. This lets you purchase the goods you find virtually! You can also carry around the goods you've purchased within the venue, bringing the experience even closer to that of a real-life market.

■ Choose from over 20 avatar options OR BYOA - Bring your own avatar!
Everyone who joins NEOKET, be they vendors or attendees, can use a 3D avatar model. If you don't already have an avatar, you're welcome to choose from among the default avatars that NEOKET provides. If you do have a 3D avatar model (VRM format), you can bring it over to NEOKET via VRoid Hub, the 3D avatar platform.
You can also create a 3D avatar easily with either VRoid Studio (Win/Mac) or VRoid mobile (for smartphones). Feel free to use this as a chance to challenge yourself in making a 3D avatar.

VROID is a 3D avatar project by pixiv Inc that aims to foster a world in which everyone can have their own 3D avatar and to build an environment in which people can use those models to communicate virtually.
