Silver Spoon's Arakawa Slows Manga's Serialization
posted on by Sarah Nelkin
The combined 36th and 37th issue of Shogakukan's Shonen Sunday magazine is announcing on Wednesday that Hiromu Arakawa will be slowing the pace of her Silver Spoon manga due to the health of a family member declining. Arakawa will be taking the extra time to support the family member. She wrote, "For a little while, I'll be dropping the pace on serialization by quite a bit, but please bear with me."
The editors also wrote that information about future chapters will be listed on the magazine's official website, as well as on the magazine's preview page.
Arakawa created Fullmetal Alchemist before penning Silver Spoon. The manga won 2012's Manga Taisho (Cartoon Grand Prize) and Booklog awards, and 2013's Shogakukan Manga Awards in the boys' category.
The first season of the anime adaptation of the manga aired in Fuji TV's Noitamina late-night programming block last summer, and the second season premiered earlier this year. Aniplex USA licensed the series for home video, and Crunchyroll is streaming the first and second seasons of the anime. A live-action film adaptation opened in Japan in March.
