The original song features vocals by Vocaloid character voices Hatsune Miku and Gumi (as well as Kagamine Rin and Megurine Luka in another version). The song already inspired a light novel series from writer Erika Yoshida (Tiger & Bunny episodes) and Kadokawa's Beans Bunko, and the imprint published the fifth volume on May 1.
The light novel version centers around Hana Ichii, a girl who goes to an ordinary girls' school. She wakes up one day and finds herself in a cage, as are her classmates. She takes part in a survival game with her classmates, including one she holds dear named Hana inazawa.
