Square Enix revealed a new smartphone and PC game titled Final Fantasy XV: Pocket Edition on Tuesday. The game is a smartphone version of its Final Fantasy XV game with a different graphic style and gameplay. The game will contain the same story as the original game. Square Enix began streaming a Gamescom trailer for the game on Tuesday.
The game is slated for release on iOS and Android devices as well as PC in Japan this fall. The game will have 10 story episodes that can be bought individually, but the first one will be free.
Final Fantasy XV is also getting a PC version in early 2018.
Final Fantasy XV went on sale worldwide for the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One last November.
The game's director Hajime Tabata stated that the game broke even with development costs on "day one." As of January 10, the game had sold more than 6 million copies worldwide. The number includes physical shipments and download sales.
